BUY MEMORIES… NOT STUFF

This weeks Podcast.. BUY MEMORIES NOT STUFF…

I started buying memories around 10 years ago, after a conversation with my kids on what they got for Christmas the year before..

No one could remember…

So I decided to CREATE a MEMORY

In 2013 Skillet came to Utah it was Simons favorite band and he actually introduced them to me.. I quickly turned into a big fan.

For Christmas 2013 I surprised Simon with concert tickets, he was so excited and was jumping up and down and gave me the biggest hug.

When I found out that Skillet was coming again I bought tickets for my children to go in honor of Simon…

Prior to Simons death, he said dad ” Next time Skillet comes we have to go again”

It was such a great concert.. I was quite surprised that we were all happy and not sad.

I did get a tear in my eye on the song: WHISPERS IN THE DARK…

” No

You’ll never be alone

When darkness comes I’ll light the night with stars

Hear my whispers in the dark

No

You’ll never be alone

When darkness comes you know I’m never far

Hear my whispers in the dark

You feel so lonely and ragged

You lay here broken and naked

My love is

Just waiting

To clothe you in crimson roses”

We had such a fabulous time and got closer as a family..

Make sure to always take pictures and videos… THEY ARE THE MOST VALUABLE TREASURE…

I only buy memories for B – Days and Christmas

*Trips

*Concerts

*Events

*Camping & Fishing

*Golf

*Basketball Games and Football

*Scrap books

*Journals..

After stepping on countless legos and finding dozens of Barbie dolls with their heads missing It was time to make a change…

Now when you ask my kids what did you get for Christmas or B-Days…

They will say Skillet and Kurt Bestor and Dinner at the Cheesecake Factory..

They will say Memories with my Dad and Family…

STUFF GETS LOST BROKEN AND FORGOTTEN.. BUT MEMORIES LIVE ON FOREVER…

CREATE MEMORIES… LIFE IS TOO SHORT….

With Love,
